How to migrate your NTRIP Correction Service to PointPerfect!

Have you heard? u-blox now has an NTRIP distribution of their PointPerfect service.
PointPerfect with NTRIP is a more affordable alternative to other correction services, give it a try!

It's easy to migrate your F9 high-precision GNSS modules to PointPerfect via NTRIP.  
Here are steps to quickly evaluate our service using a Windows computer and our u-center tool.  If you do not use Windows, most steps can be performed using any GPS client that supports NTRIP. 

  1. Create a PointPerfect Thing on our Thingstream platform
    • Sign up for (or login to) a Thingstream account
    • Add a Location Thing / PointPerfect Thing, choose a friendly name, and Create your Thing
    • Select and Activate a PointPerfect plan that meets your needs 
      • we have free developer plans available for testing
    • Collect the NTRIP credentials while viewing your PointPerfect Thing details 
  2. Connect your receiver+antenna and confirm your firmware version
    • Use a USB connection to connect your receiver to your computer 
      • Ensure your antenna is properly connected to your receiver and has a clear open-sky view
    • Download and install the latest u-center on your Windows system
    • Open u-center and connect to the COM port associated with your receiver
    • Confirm the firmware version for your device using u-center - View, Messages View, and read the UBX-MON-VER message.  Update your firmware version to the latest version to support PointPerfect 
  3. Connect your receiver to PointPerfect
    • Within u-center, go to Receiver, NTRIP Client...
    • Use the NTRIP credentials of your Thing to connect and receive corrections
      • Endpoint is the Address
      • Port 2101 for TCP (Port 2102 for a more secure TCP/TLS connection - note that TLS is not supported by u-center) 
      • Username and password of your PointPerfect Thing
      • Update source table, and choose the NTRIP mount point related to your region
    • Click OK to connect
  4. See PointPerfect being applied!
    • u-center's Data window (View, Docking Windows, Data) will update to a Float or Fix position (depending on the antenna's view) 
      • Enable the UBX-NAV-PVT message in u-center to see 2D accuracy values
    • in Thingstream, your PointPerfect Thing shows Connected, and the Event Viewer will show when it was connected
